Frequently Asked Questions

Vehicles and Services
What types of vehicles can you provide graphics for?
We create graphics for a wide range of commercial vehicles, including vans, cars, pickups, trucks, trailers and specialist vehicles. Whether you have one vehicle or a varied fleet, we can develop a consistent design that works across different makes and models.
Do you work with individual vehicles as well as fleets?
Yes. We work with businesses branding their first commercial vehicle as well as established companies managing several vehicles. Your graphics can also be designed with future vehicles in mind, making it easier to keep your branding consistent as the business grows.
What does your vehicle-graphics service include?
We can manage the complete process—from discussing your requirements and developing the design through to production and professional fitting. You have one experienced point of contact throughout the project.
Do I need a complete vehicle wrap?
Not necessarily. A carefully designed combination of logos, lettering and partial graphics can create a strong professional appearance without covering the whole vehicle. We will recommend an approach based on your vehicle, brand, objectives and budget.
Do you also provide signage for business premises?
Yes. We can coordinate vehicle graphics with signage for your premises, helping your vehicles and physical location present the same professional identity. This is particularly useful when rebranding or creating a consistent appearance across a growing business.
Design and Quotations
What is the difference between vehicle graphics, livery and a vehicle wrap?
Vehicle graphics can include logos, lettering and printed images applied to selected areas. Vehicle livery refers to the overall branded appearance of a commercial vehicle or fleet. A wrap uses vinyl to cover a large proportion—or sometimes all—of the vehicle.
Can you design the vehicle graphics for me?
Yes. We consider the vehicle’s shape, viewing distance and the information customers need to understand quickly. The aim is to create something distinctive and professional without making the design cluttered or difficult to read.
What if my logo or branding is not ready?
Send us whatever you currently have, even if it is only a logo, business name or rough idea. We will assess the available material and explain what is needed before the vehicle design begins. Any additional design work will be agreed with you in advance.
What information do you need to provide a quotation?
We normally need the vehicle’s make, model, year, wheelbase and roof height, together with photographs of the vehicle. We will also ask about the number of vehicles, your preferred level of coverage, fitting location, timescale and any existing logos or brand guidelines.
How much do commercial vehicle graphics cost?
Every project is priced individually. Cost depends on the vehicle’s size and condition, the amount of coverage, design complexity, materials, fitting requirements and number of vehicles. Once we understand the project, we will provide a clear quotation for the agreed work.
Will I see the design before it is produced?
Yes. You will receive a visual design for review before anything goes into production. This allows you to check the layout, wording and contact details and request any agreed changes before giving final approval.
The Process and Fitting
How does the process work?
We begin by learning about your business, vehicles and objectives. We then prepare the quotation and design, obtain your approval, produce the graphics and arrange fitting. We keep the process coordinated so you always know what is happening next.
How long will my vehicle be off the road?
This depends on the vehicle, coverage and complexity of the installation. Straightforward lettering normally requires less fitting time than extensive printed graphics or a full wrap. We will confirm the expected fitting time before the appointment so you can plan around it.
Where will my vehicle graphics be fitted?
Hitchman House is based in Warwickshire and manages projects across the UK. The most appropriate fitting arrangement will depend on the vehicle, location and size of the project. Vehicle graphics generally need to be installed in a suitable clean, dry and controlled environment.
Do I need to bring the vehicle to you?
Not always. We understand that commercial vehicles need to stay on the move. Where the project and site conditions allow, we can arrange fitting at your premises or another agreed location.
On-site fitting is becoming increasingly popular because it reduces vehicle downtime and removes the need to arrange separate drop-off and collection. We will discuss your location and facilities beforehand to ensure they are suitable for a professional installation.
How should I prepare my vehicle for fitting?
Your vehicle should be clean and dry, without wax, polish or silicone-based treatments on the areas being covered. Please remove tools or belongings that could restrict access. We will provide specific preparation instructions before your appointment.
Leased Vehicles, Removal and Rebranding
Can graphics be fitted to a leased or financed vehicle?
Usually, but you should check the terms of your agreement and obtain permission from the leasing or finance provider where required. The graphics may need to be professionally removed before the vehicle is returned.
Will vehicle graphics damage the paintwork?
Professionally installed vehicle vinyl will normally remove cleanly from sound original paintwork. Existing chips, corrosion, poorly bonded paint or previously repaired and resprayed panels can increase the risk of damage, so these should be identified before fitting.
Can you remove old graphics or update an existing livery?
Yes. Removal and replacement can be included as part of a rebrand or vehicle update. We will first assess the existing vinyl and the condition of the surface beneath it, as older graphics and adhesive residue can require additional time to remove.
Durability and Aftercare
How long do vehicle graphics last?
Their service life depends on the material selected, vehicle usage, exposure to weather, storage conditions and how the graphics are maintained. We will recommend materials suited to your intended use and how long you expect to keep the vehicle.
How should I look after my vehicle graphics?
Wash the vehicle regularly using mild cleaning products and soft cloths or brushes. Avoid harsh chemicals and do not direct a pressure washer closely at vinyl edges. We will provide appropriate aftercare guidance once your graphics have been fitted.
